The Centre for Moral and Political Philosophy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem invites applications for a summer PhD workshop on the topic of Biology and Ethics (for further details go to: http://cmpp-huji.org/2017project). We will invite up to 6 PhD students to spend 6 weeks, from May 14 to June 25, 2017, as fellows at the Centre to work on their own research and exchange ideas with each other and the members of the Centre. Fellows will attend Walter Sinnott-Armstrong’s condensed graduate class on neuroscience and moral responsibility. Fellows will be expected to attend our annual conference (also on the topic of biology and ethics) to be held on 21-23 June 2017. Confirmed participants include David Shoemaker (Tulan), Guy Kehane (Oxford), Arnon Levy (HUJI), Walter SinnottArmstrong (Duke), Christine Clavien (Geneva), Thomas Nadlehoffer (Charleston), Ben Fraser (ANU), David Enoch (HUJI).
The Centre will pay for the trip to Jerusalem, provide accommodation near the university and pay a scholarship of $3000 for the six week period. Successful applicants will be outstanding PhD students whose work is related to the aforementioned topic and who are in the dissertation stage of their program.
