CFP: "Logoi" - Journal of Philosophy

CALL FOR PAPER III, 8, 2017:
SELF-PORTRAIT. IMAGES OF THE ‘SELF’ BETWEEN PAST AND PRESENT

What can the experience of the Self-Portrait teach philosophy? What is the relationship between Self-portrait and research on the ‘Self’? How have we portrayed ourselves (figuratively and conceptually) from Ancient times to Present times? How has the art of Self-Portrait changed in our time, in the era of selfies and how can we interpret this new image of the Self? To what extent can we find the experience of Self-portrait also in literature, music and cinema? In the next issue of “Logoi” (III, 9, 2017), we want to start to answer this question, by collecting contributions, essays, interviews and translations within these guidelines:

Section “Theoretical Issues”:

 – Essays on:

• Self-Portrait and Philosophy
• Self-Portrait and Art
• Self-Portrait and Music
• Self-Portrait and Cinema
• Self-Portrait and Literature

Section “Teaching Philosophy”

We accept contributions, in relation to this section, that

(a) discuss the possibilities and difficulties of teaching about ‘philosophy and Self-portrait’.

(b) tell experiences and give examples of teaching (in high schools) the issue of Self-Portrait.
