Details

The cutting-edge research in the area of analytic metaphysics has been recently concerned with various metatheoretical issues. Our workshop will focus on the epistemology of metaphysics. Of our main interest is a set of issues that has to do with the relations between science and metaphysics. In particular, we aim to discuss whether metaphysics can be regarded as part of science or whether science simply replaces metaphysics. More fundamentally, however, there is a question whether metaphysics is best construed as aiming at knowledge in the first place.

Keynote speakers:

 Helen Beebee (Manchester)

 Stathis Psillos (Athens)
