Details

We invite submissions on any historical or contemporary topic, from either a scientific or philosophical perspective, regarding the laws of nature. Aiming at both depth and breadth, we welcome cutting-edge work at any level of specificity or generality.

Faculty interested in presenting are invited to submit an abstract of 500-1000 words. Graduate students are invited to submit full papers of 3000-4000 words. All submissions should be prepared for blind review, and should be suitable for 30-40min sessions. Submissions are due June 1, 2017 and should be sent as an email attachment in pdf format to the organizer, Heather Demarest ([email protected]). Acceptances will be announced by July 15, 2017. Graduate stipend: Graduate students are encouraged to submit for the program; those whose papers are accepted will receive a modest stipent of $100 to help offset travel expenses.

The Committee on the History and Philosophy of Science at University of Colorado at Boulder is co-sponsored by the Department of Philosophy, University of Colorado College of Arts and Sciences, and the Foster Endowment.
