Call for Papers:

"Apeiron" - a portuguese journal of philosophy organized by the students of the University of Minho invites students from all the levels of study for contributions for papers.

The main goal of Apeiron is to give an opportunity to young researchers to have a plataform to publish early works on several topics. 

This nr. 11 will be focused on "Philosophy, Neuroscience and Psychology", and will be having the participation of two honored guests:

- Patricia Churchland (University of California)

- Georg Northoff (University of Ottawa)

Specifically, we are searching for proposals on the following topics: 

1) History and Philosophy of Neuroscience and Psychology;
2) The Nature of Intertheoretic Reduction;
3) Mental States and Folk Psychology;
4) Theories of Brain Function and Functionalist Psychology;
5) Explanation, Reduction and Methodology in Neuroscience Practice;
6) The Reduction of Psychology to Neuroscience;
7) The Neurobiology of Higher Functions and the Search for Molecular Mechanisms of Cognitive Functions;
The relation between Philosophy and Neuroscience;
9) Neuroethics: The Brains behind Morality;
10) How does the brain relate to the mind?
11) Neurocomputational models: theory, application and philosophical consequences;
12) The role of neurological and psychiatric disorders in the study of the brain/mind relation;
Other issues that fall under the general discussion.

Target: Undergraduate Students, Masters Students or Ph.D. Students.

Note: "Apeiron" doesn't have a formal scientific committee or a blind-review system. However, should the editor need help, he will, informally, ask a Portuguese expert of the topic for such.
