Topic areas


The IPA invites submissions in any area of philosophy, but see special sessions below. Submitted papers should be (i) no more than 3000 words, (ii) prepared for blind review, and (iii) accompanied by a separate page that includes title, author information (name, affiliation, and contact information), and an abstract not exceeding 150 words. Materials should be submitted to Prof. Matthew Carlson at Suggestions for commentators and session chairs (including self-nominations) are also welcome.

The IPA invites submissions for the following two Special Sessions:

Metaphysics and Epistemology

Ancient Philosophy

Papers submitted for a special session should be identified as such on the title sheet and in your email.

Graduate Paper Prize

The IPA will present an award to the best paper submitted by a graduate student. The award will be accompanied by a cash prize of $100. Graduate student papers submitted for the competition should be identified as such on the title sheet.
