The Humane Philosophy Project is proud to annouce that in collaboration with the Ian Ramsey Centre (Oxford) we will be organizing a Study Week comprising of a summer school and conference as part of a John Templeton funded initiative "Science, Theology and Humane Philosophy: Central and Eastern European Persoectives". 

The theme of the event is: The Human Brain and the Human Person

The summer school will take place between the 29th of August, and 1st of September 2018. The event is aimed at undergraduate level and will offer students from any institution the opportunity to visit the historic Dalmatian coast for four days of classes and discussion with teachers from the universities of Oxford, Cambridge, Bochum, Warsaw and Zagreb. The summer school will be followed by a two-day conference which will take place on the 3rd and 4th of September 2018 and will explore in detail some contemporary perspectives on consciousness, neuroscience, personhood, metaphysics of experience, bioethics, and transhumanism.

The official language of the Study Week is English. Both events comprising teh Study Week will take place at the Hotel sv. Križ, Arbanija near Trogir. Participants are invited to attend the Summer School, Conference, or both.

Applications

All applications and proposals should be submitted as e-mail attachments entitled: ‘Application for the Trogir 2018’ (a) ‘Study Week’ (b) ‘Conference’ (c) ‘Study Week and Conference’) by 30th of June 2018 to: [email protected] and [email protected] . The registration fee is 375 euros (for the Study Week); 175 euros (for the Conference) and will cover the costs of the Study Week/Conference and accommodation (some scholarships available).

All applicants are requested to send as a separate document: name and surname, status/title, institution, contact address, e-mail and phone number, CV.

Those who wish to deliver papers at the conference should submit a proposal that includes: title of presentation, a paper abstract approximately 250-300 words in length, which includes the problem with which your scholarship engages, and the contribution you plan to make.
