We invite abstracts for presentations at the 37th Annual Dutch-Flemish Day of Philosophy. The Dutch-Flemish Day of Philosophy is organised by the PhD Council of the Dutch Research School of Philosophy (OZSW) and aims to bring together philosophers from the Netherlands, Belgium, and abroad. It is open to all philosophical disciplines. This year’s theme is ‘Academic Philosophy with a Twist.’

The model for the event is the so-called Science Slam, an increasingly popular event format where research reporting and storytelling go hand in hand. We use this format to encourage informative, entertaining, and lucid communication of philosophical ideas. Speakers are heartily invited to try out something new, both in regards to the content and to the mode of their presentation. All presentations will be plenary talks, with 10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion. You are free to choose your method of presentation; there are no specific presets (e.g. as to whether or not use slides or other media). We explicitly invite junior researchers to participate and to submit an abstract. Please visit http://dfdop37.weebly.com/ for more information.

*Best Presentation Award & Presentation Coaching*

A jury will award the speakers that best manage to combine a compelling presentation with philosophical depth. There will also be an audience award. We are planning to give accepted authors the opportunity to participate in a sponsored presentation training before the event.

*abstract submission*

Please submit your abstract (min 200, max 300 words) in Dutch or English via http://dfdop37.weebly.com/submit.html. Submission deadline: 12.07.2017. Successful authors will be informed by July 24. Submissions will be subject to double-blind review.
