Abstract: Can there be extended material objects which lack proper parts? A number of philosophers have recently argued that there could be (including, inter alia, Parsons and Sider). Kris McDaniel argues that there could be two different sorts of extended simples: multilocaters and spanners. I critically examine his argument.
