This year is the seventeenth since the demise of the renowned Kenyan philosopher, Prof. H. Odera Oruka, who is best known for his trail-blazing work in philosophic sagacity. Prof. Oruka also wrote in a variety of other fields of philosophy, including epistemology, ethics and political philosophy.

To mark the seventeenth anniversary of Prof. Oruka’s demise, the Editorial Board of the New Series of Thought and Practice: A Journal of the Philosophical Association of Kenya is dedicating the December 2012 issue of the journal to an examination of his legacy.

In view of the foregoing, the Editorial Board is calling for papers exploring any aspect of Prof. Oruka’s work, to reach us no later than 31st October, 2012 to ensure that we publish the  December issue on time.

Please find attached our “Author Guidelines”, and strictly adhere to them to ensure that we save time during the processing of the papers.

For those who have not yet visited the Thought and Practice web page, you can easily do so at http://ajol.info/index.php/tp/index where you will find the latest issue as soon as you “arrive”, and can view past issues by clicking on “Archives”.

Once you reach the journal web page, you can also register as a “Reader” or “Reviewer” as well as ask to receive journal updates. However, registration is not mandatory.
