Being with Bert - Celebrating the legacy of Hubert Dreyfus (Or, reflections on doing phenomenology in the wild)
20 June 2017 (Q201, Lochlann Quinn School of Business, University College Dublin, Ireland)
In this workshop we will celebrate the legacy of the late Prof. Hubert Dreyfus (UC Berkeley), with a special emphasis on what his work means for doing phenomenology ‘in the wild’ (outside of traditional philosophy departments). We are lucky to be joined by two of Bert’s former students and co-authors, Seán Dorrance Kelly (Harvard) and Charles Spinosa (Vision Consulting), as well as a range of speakers from areas as diverse as organisation/management studies, philosophy, information systems, marketing, and cognitive science. The range of disciplines represented is testimony to the breadth and power of Bert’s work.
Speakers will include (in alphabetical order) Norah Campbell (TCD), Fred Cummins (UCD), Paul Ennis (UCD), Lucas Introna (Lancaster University), Séamas Kelly (UCD), Seán Dorrance Kelly (Harvard), Dermot Moran (UCD), and Charles Spinosa (Vision Consulting).
The workshop will begin at 0900 and will run until 1330 (sandwich lunch included).
