The 2017 Eastern Regional Meeting of the Society of Christian Philosophers

Conference Theme: “The Limits of Individualism: Dependence, Suffering, and Community”

We welcome submissions on any topic of interest to members of the society, including but not limited to issues related to the conference theme. The conference theme is intended to be interpreted broadly. Potential topics of interest: the virtues of acknowledged dependence, moral disagreement and community, the problem of suffering, human dignity, disability, collective action and collective guilt, forgiveness, reconciliation, the church as the body of Christ, original sin, trust and humility as epistemic virtues, corporate knowledge, submission and authority.

Submissions should be 3,000 words or less and should be prepared for anonymous review. Please send submission as a .doc, .docx, or .pdf file to [email protected] and include the words “Conference Submission” in the subject line. In the body of your email, please provide the following information: name, institutional affiliation, email address, paper title and an abstract of no more than 200 words. If you wish for you paper to be considered for the $500 prize for best graduate student paper, please indicate that in the body of your email. All submissions are due by July 31, 2017.
