Details

Newton’s Principia inspired countless philosophical commentators, but few with the insight and the qualifications— both scientific and philosophical— of Émilie du Châtelet (1706-1751). Her commentaries on Newton’s principles provide one of the first and best examples of the philosophical investigation of scientific ideas.
