Theodore Vitali, C.P., Ph.D. (Grad A&S ’74 and ’76) was chair of Philosophy at Saint Louis University for 28 years, from 1989 to 2017.

During Vitali’s tenure, he coordinated the hiring of three endowed chairs and helped raise the graduate program’s profile to rank as one of the top 50 in the nation. The 2018 Henle Conference will honor Fr. Vitali and celebrate his legacy by bringing together speakers who all took their PhD’s from SLU during his tenure as chair.
