Call for application PhD Summer Workshop on "Ethics and uncertainty" (2017/2018)
The Centre for Moral and Political Philosophy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem invites applications for a summer PhD workshop on the topic of Ethics and uncertainty (see detailed description here). We will invite up to 6 PhD students to spend 6 weeks (6 May to 17 June 2018) as fellows at the Centre to work on their own research and exchange ideas with each other and the members of the Centre. Fellows will attend Brian Weatherson's condensed graduate class on Ethics and Uncertainty.
Fellows will be expected to attend our annual conference (also on the topic of ethics and uncertainty) to be held on 6-8 June 2018. Confirmed participants include Luc Bovens (UNC), Jennifer Carr (UCSD), Ryan Doody (HUJI), Johann Frick (Princeton), Elizabeth Harman (Princeton), Arnon Keren (University of Haifa), Seth Lazar (ANU), Ittay Nissan-Rozen (HUJI), Paulina Sliwa (Cambridge), Holly Smith (Rutgers), Levi Spectre (Open University, Israel), Brian Weatherson (Michigan).
The Centre will pay for the trip to Jerusalem, provide accommodation near the university and pay a scholarship of $3000 for the six week period.
Successful applicants will be outstanding PhD students whose work is related to the aforementioned topic and who are in the dissertation stage of their program.
