Details

This workshop provides a venue for presenting and discussing current work in moral theory. We understand this area broadly, but in contrast to pure applied ethics and pure meta-ethics. Contributions that draw a connection between moral theory and either of these latter areas are welcome.

Our keynote speaker will be R. Jay Wallace (UC Berkeley).

We are inviting submissions for additional talks, which should be between 30 and 40 minutes in length. We are particularly interested in current or future research projects. To propose a talk, please send an abstract of approximately 1,000 words as a PDF attachment to [email protected]. The abstract should be suitable for blind review, i.e. it should not contain any information that may identify you as the author. The deadline for submission is the 31st of January 2018. You will be notified about the acceptance of your paper by the end of February. Please make sure that the e-mail to which the abstract is attached contains your name, institutional affiliation, and the title of the paper. Researchers from underrepresented groups in academic philosophy are especially encouraged to submit.

We will provide hotel accommodation for all accepted speakers. In addition, there is a limited budget for covering some of the travelling expenses of those whose home institutions do not bear those expenses. We will also be able to arrange for professional childcare during the workshop. Please contact us for more information on this.

The workshop is organized by Andreas Müller (University of Bern) and Peter Schaber (University of Zurich) and will take place in Bern. If you have any questions, please write to [email protected].
