The Phi Sigma Tau chapter at The University of Scranton invites submissions to our 2nd annual undergraduate philosophy conference. The conference will be held March 2 – 3, 2018. Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Peter van Inwagen from The University of Notre Dame. He is the author of the recently published book Thinking about Free Will (Cambridge University Press, 2017).


Topic: We will accept papers on any topic, although priority will be given to ones on free-will and moral responsibility. Additionally, consideration will be given to papers on free will from other disciplines (e.g. psychology, theology, etc.).



Length: Approximately 4,000 words (excluding footnotes and references).


Submission Guidelines: Please submit your paper and a separate cover letter (as Word documents) via email to [email protected]. Prepare your paper for blind review. Your cover letter should include your name, your year, the name of your institution, your email address and phone number, the paper title, word count, and a brief (500 word) abstract.
