All are Welcome.

Eugenics was a social movement that began in the late 19th-century and that ultimately drove Nazi policies of murder and extermination in the Second World War. The Eugenic Mind Project explores eugenic thinking, both past and present, drawing on the author's experience in working with eugenic survivors in Alberta, Canada, where eugenic sterilization was practiced until 1972. The eugenic mind is still with us in many ways, from the dehumanization of people with disabilities to the latest advances in gene editing technology. Join us for this free public book launch.

Rob Wilson recently returned to Australia as the professor of philosophy at La Trobe University. He led the team that produced the educational website EugenicsArchive.ca, and co-directed and co-produced the film Surviving Eugenics (2015). He presently heads the Melbourne-based network Philosophical Engagement in Public Life (PEiPL).
