Details

The problem of free will is one of the most challenging and relevant philosophical debates over the last two millennia. Are we free to do as we choose? If not, are we responsible for our actions? What is free will? These are typical questions that often arise upon reflection regarding the nature of free will. The answers to these questions will have profound effects on our notion of justice and our conception of morality. In Dr. van Inwagen's keynote speech, he will ask whether or not "ought" implies "can." Are they equivalent terms or equivocated terms?
