The Graduate Philosophy Association at the University at Buffalo (State University of New York) cordially invites graduate students to submit papers to be considered for inclusion in the upcoming University at Buffalo Philosophy Graduate Conference. The conference will be held in Buffalo, NY on Saturday, October 6th, 2018. Submissions from any area of metaphysics will be considered, but special consideration will be given to papers written in the area(s) of the keynote speaker, Achille C. Varzi.

Submissions should be suitable for a 30-minute presentation, prepared for blind review, and should not exceed 3000 words (excluding abstract, footnotes, and bibliography). Invited speakers will be assigned a UB graduate student commentator. A separate document should accompany the paper submission with paper title, author’s name, an abstract of no more than 150 words, and institutional affiliation for identifying purposes. Submissions should be .pdf or .docx files and sent electronically to [email protected].

We strongly encourage submissions from members of groups underrepresented in the profession.

Notification of acceptance: July 30, 2018

We will reserve a block of rooms in a nearby hotel at a discounted rate for invited speakers and provide transportation to and from the airport and conference venue, as well as meals for the invited speakers. Dinner will be provided immediately following the conclusion of the conference.
