CFP: Philosophy and Technology

Submission deadline: December 1, 2011

Topic areas

Details

Philosophy and Technology invites expressions of interest to guest edit a book symposium.

What books to review

Philosophy and Technology reviews preferably recently published books, but also considers symposia on older books that constitute milestones in the area of philosophy and technology. Philosophy and Technology will have a preference for philosophical books in the first instance, and then will cover monographs also in related disciplines – say law or sociology – but always philosophical/theoretical in character.

Format

Each symposium will have:

  1. An introduction by the guest editor (2000 words)
  2. Contributions of 3 commentators (2000 words each)
  3. A rejoinder of the author of the book, i.e. a Précis (2000 words each)

The author of the book is not requested to write an introductory description. This can be shortly done in the guest editor’s introduction. The author of the book will prepare a Précis having read the three commentaries. The guest editor and the commentators can give titles to their contributions.

Deadlines

Philosophy and Technology is published four times a year, in March, June, September, and December. The deadline to submit the whole manuscript is always and imperatively three months before the planned publication, namely 1st December, 1st March, 1st June, and 1st September.
