Submission deadline: December 1, 2018
February 9, 2019 - February 10, 2019
Department of Philosophy and Religion, Mississippi State University
Mississippi State, United States
The Mississippi Philosophical Association (MPA) is soliciting abstracts for presentations at its annual meeting, to be held February 9-10, (Saturday-Sunday), on the Mississippi State University campus in Starkville, MS. We seek participants whose work explores the importance of history—whether the history of philosophy, the history of a science or art form, or social and political history--to philosophical work.
While the MPA is a regional organization, we seek broad participation in this conference. Philosophers from all institutions and locations are encouraged to submit abstracts.
Submissions should include a title page with the title of the presentation, author’s name, institutional affiliation, email address, and postal address. A 500 word abstract should be prepared for blind review and sent as a second file (.doc or pdf only). Email all submissions or questions to Kristin Boyce (firstname.lastname@example.org).
SUBMISSIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY DECEMBER 1ST.
Authors will be notified about submissions by DECEMBER 15th.
GRADUATE STUDENT PRIZE: There will be cash prizes of $200 (first) and $100 (second) for the best graduate student presentations. If you are a graduate student and want to be eligible for the prize, please note your graduate student status on the title page of your submission.
