Details

On occasion of his 200th birthday, the international Congress Friedrich Engels – The Timeliness of a Historic Figure at the Bergische Universität will cover the wide range of his scientific innovations as well as his political activities and his journalistic works. His literary juvenilia are also to be discussed. The Congress intends a reassessment of Engels’ scientific achievements and political activity.

Please submit an abstract, consisting of a maximum of around 1.500 characters (spaces included). Abstracts can be written in one of the two Congress languages and address any of the 8 thematic sections listed below and should clearly state which section(s) the author finds most fitting.

The abstract must be submitted as a PDF file. Selected abstracts will be allotted a slot of 30 minutes (with additional time for discussion).

Authors will be notified of the review outcome in March 2019. Participation in the Congress is also possible without submission of a paper.
