Special Topic: Philosophy of Oppression
The IPA invites submissions to our Spring Workshop, a one-day informal gathering on a special topic within philosophy. The Spring 2019 Workshop will focus on the Philosophy of Oppression, interpreted broadly to include oppression based on sex, gender, race, ethnicity, political affiliation, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, and religious belief, along with the theoretical approaches leading to or undergirding unequal power structures as well as the resistance of oppression. Submitted papers should be (i) no more than 3000 words, (ii) prepared for blind review, and (iii) accompanied by a separate page that includes title, author information (name, affiliation, and contact information), and an abstract not exceeding 150 words. Undergraduate Paper Prize and Special Session
(All Topics Welcome)
The Spring Workshop will include an undergraduate paper session. Submissions to the undergraduate prize and session can be on any topic in philosophy and must be submitted by a faculty mentor. Please identify submissions to the undergraduate special session on the paper's cover sheet as well as in the body of the submission email. The IPA will present an award to the best paper written by an undergraduate student attending an institution within Indiana. The prize is accompanied by a cash prize of $100.
