Following a very successful conference held in 2017 in Cologne, the second iteration of Issues in Philosophy of Memory will be held on 1-4 July 2019 in Grenoble. Over the last several years, the philosophy of memory has grown into an extremely dynamic and active area. The intention is for this conference series to bring together all researchers working in the field, and papers on all aspects of the philosophy of memory are thus welcome.

The conference schedule will include space for a large number of contributed papers. Younger researchers are particularly encouraged to submit.

Thanks to generous support from the CNRS GDR Mémoire, a prize of 400 EUR will be awarded to each of the seven best submissions by early-career researchers (PhD students and postdocs). Additional travel support for early-career researchers will also be available, the amount available per researcher to depend on the number of applicants. In order to be considered for one of the prizes/the additional funding, please indicate your early-career status in your abstract. If you have already submitted an abstract and wish to be considered, please send an email to Kourken Michaelian at [email protected].

The conference schedule will also include two symposia:

1. A symposium on Christopher McCarroll's recent book, Remembering from the Outside: Personal Memory and the Perspectival Mind (OUP 2018). Symposium organizer: John Sutton, Macquarie University.

Please submit abstracts via EasyChair (https://easychair.org/cfp/IPM2) by 15 March 2019. Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words. Notification of acceptance will be sent by 10 April 2019.

Note that the conference will be preceded on 28-29 June by an informal workshop on Jordi Fernández' book, Memory: A Self-Referential Account, forthcoming in OUP's new Philosophy of Memory and Imagination book series.
