University of Chicago Graduate Student Conference in Ancient Philosophy

Date: Friday & Saturday, May 24-25, 2019

Submission Deadline: Friday, March 8, 2019

Keynote Speaker: Sara Magrin (Berkeley)

The 4th Annual University of Chicago Graduate Student Conference seeks submissions from all areas of ancient Greek and Roman philosophy. We are especially keen to hear submissions on neglected figures or less discussed aspects of ancient philosophy.

Approximately 5-6 presenters will be chosen. All papers accepted will be read in advance. Each presenter will have approximately an hour for discussion.  We will be able to provide partial compensation for travel expenses.

To propose a paper, send an abstract of 250-500 words to [email protected] (Michael Moore). To submit an abstract, email it with the subject heading “Graduate Conference Submission.” In order to facilitate blind reviewing, please prepare the attached document with all identifying information withheld. Documents should be submitted in .doc or .docx if at all possible.

Any questions can be directed to Michael Moore [email protected]
