Call for Papers: The Alain Locke Society invites submissions for our bi-annual Alain Locke Conference that will be held on April 12 – 13, 2019. We welcome submissions in all areas of study that engage the work of Alain Locke. These include, but are not limited to, Philosophy, English/Literature, African American/Africana Studies, Anthropology, Cultural Studies, and American Studies. The Alain Locke Society is dedicated to furthering interdisciplinary discourse around Alain Locke’s multidisciplinary scholarship that sought to cultivate respect for all humanity and promote peace in our world.

Abstract submission deadline: Friday, March 1, 2019
Submission Instructions: Abstracts for papers are to be submitted electronically (PDF or Word) as an email attachment to one of the contact persons below. We will confirm receipt of submission by email within 24-hours of submission. The finished paper should be 3,500 words or less. Selected participants will have a total of 40-minutes allotted for presentation (20-minutes in which you present your written work, 10-minutes for questions from selected respondents, and roughly 10-minutes for answering questions from the audience).
