Symposium on collective intentions and the act of voting

Hosted by the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights and the Faculty of Law

University of Oxford

On 25 July 2019, the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights will host a symposium on collective intention-formation and voting. Voting can be broadly defined as either voting in the political context or in other contexts, such as a board of directors or legislative vote.

Submissions are welcome from any interested parties. The aim of the symposium is to provide a supportive intellectual environment for conversation of this issue from a wide variety of angles.

Important Dates:

If would like to attend, please send abstracts of no more than 500 words to [email protected] by 31 March 2019

Successful applicants will be contacted by 1 May 2019

Should you wish to participate in the symposium as a discussant, or attend as a participant, please contact the organizers by 15 June 2019

Papers (which should be no more than 12 000 words, including footnotes) will be circulated to all symposium participants by 30 June 2019

The workshop will be held on 25 July 2019

We will provide accommodation in Oxford for all participants. We will also make every effort to defray travel expenses, with preference in this respect being given to postgraduate students and early-career researchers.
