From March 12 to 14, the Akademie Schloss Solitude and the Theater Rampe invite you to the short festival and the exhibition »Engaging with Histories«. Walks, talks, screenings, lectures, readings, performances, and installations open up a field of discussion at various sites around the Marienplatz, Stuttgart, in search of the potential and the significance of engaging with forgotten, marginalized, or buried histories.
Can the collision of our personal history and global political dynamics inform new forms of agency within the chaotic immediate present? How do we develop senses and abilities that are necessary to grasp the dormant potential of future histories? Which role does writing, building and storytelling play as a narration of multiplicity and which responsibilities does this understanding of history articulate in our everyday practices?
The short festival includes contributions by artists, writers, cultural producers, performers, researchers, and architects, that actively engage with notions of history within their artistic or research-based practice. What alternative forms of dialog and community may we uncover while digging into the proverbial rubbles of history?
In co-operation with Theater Rampe.
