Details

We are pleased to announce the 2019 Humane Philosophy Society study week comprising a workshop and conference on the topic 'Truth and Beauty; Transcendentals in the twenty-first century'.  

The workshop will take place from the 28th of August to the 31st of August 2019 and will provide advanced undergraduate/MA level classes by lecturers from the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, the University of Lincoln, the University of Bochum, the University of Warsaw, and the University of Zagreb. 

This will be followed by a conference on the 2nd and 3rd of September 2019. The conference and study week theme description can be found in the attachement below.  

Both portions of the study week will take place at Hotel Sveti Križ on Island of Čiovo, Croatia, a short boat ride from the UNESCO world heritage sites of Split to the east and Trogir to the west.

Applications & Paper Submissions 

Undergraduate and MA students are invited to attend both the workshop and conference; or the workshop only. Researchers and graduate students (including MA) are invited to deliver papers at the conference. Papers should be written in the official language of the study week, English.

You should indicate in the title which portions of the study week you wish to attend as follows: 

A) Trogir 2019: Workshop

B) Trogir 2019: Conference

C) Trogir 2019: Workshop and Conference

The registration fee is 375 euros for the workshop and 175 euros for the conference. This will cover organisational costs, plus accommodation and meals at Hotel Sveti Križ.  

All applicants should provide as a separate document: name, status/title, institution, contact address, e-mail and phone number, and a CV. Those who wish to deliver papers at the conference should also provide a title and 250-300 abstract.
