EXTENDED DEADLINE: 7th of July

NordPhil aims to invigorate Nordic academic philosophy by the roots, providing an arena for aspiring Nordic philosophy students  to develop their professional skills and test their ideas in an encouraging critical environment. By providing a stepping stone, the conference intends to foster a greater exchange of ideas and furthered competence in the Nordic region, with the long term goal of promoting the international standing of nordic philosophy.

This is the third edition of NordPhil, previously held at the Univeristy of Oslo and Uppsala University. It is our intention that the conference series will circulate among major Nordic universities for years to come, furthering collaboration between Nordic philosophers.

NordPhil 2019 is hosted by Lund University and will take place in Lund, Sweden at the 19-20th of September. We welcome submissions and presentations in English, but also Swedish, Danish and Norwegian—with the requirement that adequate understanding may be secured.

The 2019 edition has the great pleasure of presenting Professor Kasper Lippert-Rasmussen, Aarhus University, as keynote-speaker. Prof. Lippert-Ramussen is a distinguished scholar who has, among other things, published books with Cambridge University Press and Bloomsbury as well as Oxford Univeristy Press. His talk at the conference holds the title "Being in a position to blame (or praise)".

While philosophers affiliated with Nordic universities at any level are welcome to apply, the conference will give priority to B.A.- and M.A.-level students. Anyone who would like to participate without presenting are very welcome, though registration is required and space is limited. For registration, e-mail [email protected]. Any other enquires are also directed to this e-mail adress or the webpage, www.nordphil.com. Also visit our Facebook-page at https://www.facebook.com/nordphil1/
