SIFP Conference — Italian Society for Political Philosophy

Power, authority and freedom

Milan, 21-23 November 2019

On the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd of November 2019, the Italian Society for Political Philosophy (SIFP), in collaboration with the University of Milano-Bicocca, the University of Milan, the University Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele and the University of Pavia, will organize its general conference, which is held every three years, centred on the themes of power, authority and freedom. The conference will take place in Milan.

In addition to parallel sessions, there will be two plenary sessions. This year’s keynote speakers are:

● Lea Ypi (London School of Economics and Political Science)
● Rainer Forst (Frankfurt University)

Scholars and researchers interested in contributing to the discussion concerning one or all of the three themes of the conference, considered separately or jointly, from any perspective of political philosophy and political theory, are invited to participate and propose a paper by sending anabstract (400 words).

Paper proposals should be submitted by June 15 2019 via the online submission form present on the conference website. They will be forwarded to the Conference Academic Committee for review. Papers must be prepared for blind review and files must be anonymized. Notification of acceptance or rejection of the abstract will be sent to the corresponding author by July 20 2019.

The official language of the conference is Italian, but abstracts and presentations in English are welcome. Please indicate in your submission the language in which you wish to present your paper.
