Details

The University at Buffalo’s Romanell Center for Clinical Ethics and the Philosophy of Medicine is soliciting abstracts for its Saturday September 28, 2019 Workshop. The abstracts can be on any topic in bioethics or the philosophy of medicine, broadly construed. Abstracts should be sent by email to David Hershenov at [email protected]. Abstracts should be prepared for blind review and be no more than 750 words. The subject line of the email should state "Romanell Center Workshop - September 28, 2019." Decisions about submitted abstracts will be made in early August. If the abstract is accepted, the paper must be sent no later than September 21, 2019 so it can be distributed to the other participants prior to the workshop.

Submitters of abstracts should specify whether they want a rejected abstract to be considered for any of the other five Romanell workshops planned for the 2019-2020 academic year. Those workshops will take place on Saturday October 26, 2019, Saturday February 15, 2020; Saturday March 14, 2020; Saturday April 25, 2020; Saturday May 23, 2020.

The Romanell Center will provide out of town workshop speakers with lodging the night before and the night of the workshop. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided on the day of the workshop. The Romanell Center will NOT reimburse speakers for their travel expenses - flights, trains, taxis, gas, etc.
