You are invited to submit a paper for possible inclusion in a special issue of Revue Roumaine de Philosophie, Enhancing ethics: new approaches to standard moral issues. Revue Roumaine de Philosophie is hosted by The Institute of Philosophy and Psychology, part of The Romanian Academy and is indexed in the Arts & Humanities Citation Index. The central aim of this special issue is to explore some of the latest advances in the field of applied ethics. Specifically, the issue will focus on how ethics can be used as a tool in order to tackle the issues and challenges raised by the permeation of new technologies in all areas of human life. What are the implications of the new technologies and scientific advances for ethical theories? What are the ethical implications of the new technologies? Can ethical analysis be enhanced with the use of scientific and technological innovation? Are standard ethical theories and moral dilemmas resignified in the context of constant change caused by technological advances and social upheavals?

Submission of original papers is invited on (but is not limited to) the following topics:

- Ethics in the new technologies

- The nature of moral/normative judgements

- Professional ethics

- Business ethics

- Moral psychology

- Moral reasoning, education, character

Guidelines for authors

Deadline: Papers should be submitted by 1 October, 2019. The authors will receive the final answer by 15 October, 2019.

Submitted papers should be prepared for blind review. All other relevant information should be sent in a separate document containing author’s name and affiliation, the title of the paper, short abstract of not more than 250 words, and 4-5 keywords. All documents should be in a *.doc or *.docx format. Papers should not exceed 6000 words, bibliography and footnotes included. Articles will be edited to conform to the Romanian Academy style. Authors are expected to use footnotes for in-text references according to the following format:

- References to books should list author(s), title, publisher, place of publication, year;

- References to journal articles should list author(s), title of article, journal name, volume, year, and inclusive pages;

- References to works in edited volumes should list author(s), essay title, volume editor(s), volume title, publisher, place of publication, year, and inclusive pages.

Papers from new researchers and practitioners are encouraged. A paper might take a conceptual, applied, practical or historical focus. Case studies and reports on lessons learned in practice are welcome.
