CFP – Special issue of Philosophical Topics: the Political Philosophy of Socialism

Volume Editors: Pablo Gilabert (Concordia University) and Martin O’Neill (University of York)

Deadline: May 1st, 2020.

Submissions are invited for a special issue of Philosophical Topics on the political philosophy of socialism. This volume aims to bring together leading perspectives in political philosophy related to a range of issues related to socialism, including the normative commitments of socialism, socialist critiques of capitalism, and the assessment of socialist policies and institutions.

Our intention is to accept 2-3 papers via this CFP to be chosen through blind review. These will accompany invited submissions from Samuel Arnold, Juliana Bidadanure, Joseph Carens, Pablo Gilabert, Carol Gould, Alex Gourevitch, Suzanne M. Love, Martin O’Neill,  Lucas Stanczyk, Christine Sypnowich, and Nicholas Vrousalis..

Contributions that draw on perspectives from adjacent disciplines, including economics, political theory, political economy, and public policy, are very welcome. For guidance on journal style, please examine recent issues of the journal, available at https://www.jstor.org/journal/philtopics

For more information, please contact the guest editors, Pablo Gilabert ([email protected]) and Martin O’Neill ([email protected]

Submissions should not have been previously published or be under consideration elsewhere. Please anonymise documents, removing identifying information, and submit as a .doc document to [email protected] with “Socialism” as the subject line.

Submissions will be accepted until May 1st, 2020.
