Simon Goldstein (ACU) will present "Justification is possible knowledge" at 11 in Old Arts 224 on 25 October.

Abstract: This paper provides a theory of the preface paradox using tools from epistemic logic. An agent is justified in believing p iff it is consistent with what she knows that she knows p. It is never possible to know p and possible to know not p. But there are cases where it is possible to know p and possible to know q, but it is not possible to know p and q. So justification is consistent but not closed.
