Belmont University Undergraduate Journal of Philosophy

Founded in the spring of 2012, Philologoi is a student-run scholarly journal that is deeply rooted in the history of philosophy. Its mission is to provide an engaging and reflective forum for showcasing exceptional work from undergraduates world-wide—particularly work which explores the idea of philosophy as a way of life.

We invite students to submit papers exploring any aspect of philosophical thought from antiquity through the twentieth century. We encourage topics that remain true to our core as a journal that seeks philosophy as a way of life.

FOCUS

Our focus is to provide an engaging and reflective forum for showcasing exceptional scholarly work from undergraduates worldwide.

PEER REVIEW 

All submitted works will be initially reviewed by at least three members of the Editorial Staff, who then bring the works before the full staff with a recommendation to accept for publication, accept pending revisions, or decline, with the full staff making the final decision. The review process will begin in winter and decisions may not be finalized until late-spring. All submissions will receive a summation of editorial evaluations.

SUBMISSION

• Submit papers to [email protected] by Friday, January 31st, 2020.

• Please prepare submissions for blind review by including the author’s name (with pronoun preferences), title of paper (put title on both documents), contact information and academic affiliation in a separate document.

• Papers should be in 12 pt. font with one-inch margins, formatted in Turabian (Chicago style) or MLA. Documents must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.docx) format.

• There is no formal page limit, although students are politely discouraged from submitting papers over thirty pages in length.
