The Second Amsterdam Graduate Conference in Political Theory

2829 May 2020, John Stuart Mill College, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam

Keynote speakers: Laura Valentini (LSE), Karuna Mantena (Columbia)

The Second Annual Amsterdam Graduate Conference in Political Theory will be held on May 28–29, 2020 at the John Stuart Mill College of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

We are now accepting submissions of extended abstracts.

This conference offers PhD candidates the opportunity to present their research in a vibrant intellectual environment. Each session will give those presenting a chance to receive feedback from a dedicated discussant, after which each author will engage in an extensive question and answer period with the faculty and PhD students from the John Stuart Mill College of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the University of Amsterdam, as well as the keynote speakers, and other participants of the conference.

We are excited to announce that we will have two keynote speakers:

We particularly welcome (without restricting ourselves to) submissions from interdisciplinary perspectives; for example, work that spans the disciplines of philosophy, politics, and economics.

Quite apart from offering the opportunity to reflect on political theorising, another explicit aim of the conference is to build a community and a network among those PhD candidates and postdocs interested in interdisciplinary research. The conference therefore aims to create an intellectually stimulating environment in which PhD candidates and postdocs can interact with their peers from around the world who share this interest.
