Details

The conference will explore issues in the philosophy of action and the philosophy of law, as they arise in relation to Wittgenstein’s work or in the work of philosophers writing within the Wittgensteinian tradition, e.g. Anscombe, Hart, White, Raz, Kenny. While the conference will place particular emphasis on questions bringing law and action together (e.g. responsibility in criminal and private law, intention in law, omission and action in law, etc.), it will also cover these topics about law and action in their own right. We encourage all methodologies, including historical analysis and comparative intellectual history.

The aim of the Conference is to create a platform for the exchange of Wittgenstein-inspired ideas and creation of synergies on new ways of thinking about law, social practice and action among researchers in the field of philosophy, legal theory, law and political science.
