After the Control and the Absent Mind conference in the summer of 2012, we are organizing for the beginning of 2013 a follow-up event which brings together early-career philosophers based in Germany and the Netherlands working on automatic actions and habits and their theoretical and ethical implications for such concepts as intention, awareness, responsibility and freedom.

Speakers:

Julia Peters (Bonn), Habits, Virtue, and Automaticity.

Daan Evers (Utrecht), Free Will and Conscious Origination.

Martin Weichold (Göttingen), Affordances as Paradigm for Analyzing Automatic Action.

Filippo Santoni de Sio (Delft), The Legal Puzzle of Automatic Action.

Hannes Worthmann (Göttingen), Automatic Actions and Capacities.

Organized by Ezio Di Nucci & Neil Roughley. For further information and registration please contact ezio [dot] dinucci [at] uni-due [dot] de. Attendance is free. Further info here:
