12th April 2020 announcement: due to Covid91 outbreak the congress will no longer take place in 2020 September 10-11.

The 4th International Congress of the Portuguese Philosophical Society will be held in the city of Braga, at the University of Minho, on 9 and 10 September 2021. The congress is open to everyone interested in presenting and discussing their research on all the areas of philosophical studies. Until 15 March 2020, we accept abstracts for the proposal of talks or topic sessions, in any of the following languages: Portuguese, Spanish, French and English.

The Congress welcomes talks on any philosophical topic and according to any philosophical methodology. However, each proposal must be associated to one of the following sections:

Organization, place and date

The Congress is organized by the Portuguese Philosophical Society in partnership with the Philosophy Department of the Institute of Letters and Human Sciences of the University of Minho and its Research Centre for Ethics, Politics and Society, and will take place at the University of Minho, Braga, on 10 and 11 September 2020.

Proposals for talks / abstracts

Proposals for talks (20 minutes + 10 minutes for discussion) should be written in one of the languages of the Congress (Portuguese, English, French or Spanish), and must a) indicate a title; b) indicate the section of Congress the proposal is addressed to; c) contain an abstract not exceeding 300 word, inserted/pasted on the submissions site (and, if the author so wishes, also as a text document); in no case may a version of the abstract contain data or metadata ("properties") that might reveal, directly or indirectly, the identitity or any other of the author's personal data.                

Thematic Sessions

Thematic Sessions may be proposed, as long as they include no less than 3 talks and no more than 9. These proposals must include the data referent to each talk, and mention the title of the session and the person responsible for the proposal, who will chair the session.

These sessions may be sponsored by research projects or units/centers.

Each author should submit a single proposal for an individual talk, and exceptionally, under justified circumstances, a different one as part of a thematic section.
