The MANCEPT Workshops is an annual conference in political theory, organised under the auspices of the Manchester Centre for Political Theory. The next conference will take place on Tuesday 7th of September to Friday 10th September 2021. The conference offers academics an opportunity to come together in a series of workshops so as to develop specialised work and engage in lively philosophical discussion. Attracting scholars throughout the world, the conference is now established as a leading international forum dedicated to the development of research in all subfields of political theory.
The final format of this year’s workshop has yet to be decided. Given the continued uncertainty with the C-19 pandemic, and the success of hosting the 2020 workshops online, at present we are proceeding with planning for an on-line event. However, we will organize an in-person event at the University of Manchester should it be possible to do so safely. We welcome any thoughts you have on both an on-line only and a possible blended model where we have combined in-person and on-line workshops.
1st Call for Convenors
We are now accepting applications for workshop convenors. Applications are made by submitting a short (500 word) abstract describing the subject of your workshop. The deadline for workshop proposals is 2nd March 2021. If accepted, convenors then put out their own call for papers for the panel based on their proposal.
Successful convenors and panellists will be eligible to apply for a bursary consisting in a fee waiver. Bursaries will be awarded on the basis of need.
Further details and instructions on how to apply will be released in due course.
If you are interested in convening a workshop or require any further information please e-mail the workshop organisers Molly Powell, Jeannine Bringmann, Vittorio Gerosa and Davide Pala and at:
