The Philosophy Department at Saint Louis University is pleased to send an invitation for paper submissions to the 2021 SLU Philosophy Graduate Student Conference. The theme of this year’s conference is “Virtue and Wisdom”.

Our keynote speaker is Stephen Grimm (Fordham University).

The conference will be held on October 1-2, 2021. Due to current health considerations and public regulations, presenters should plan to deliver their papers virtually, though in-person or hybrid presentations may become possible.

Papers should be related to the theme of the conference, broadly construed (for example, in addition to topics surrounding virtue ethics, issues in virtue or moral epistemology, contributions in philosophy of religion to the relation of virtue and wisdom, or papers on the history of philosophy dealing with a particular era or thinker’s approach to the relationship of virtue and wisdom). Papers should not exceed 3,000 words in length and should be accompanied by a 150 word abstract. Please prepare papers for blind review.

Submission deadline is April 16th.

Questions and submissions may be sent to [email protected]
