Eth.Sci Session 2: Science and Public Policy: Pandemic Measures and Trade-Offs

This session will focus on the social consequences of policies and measures intended to mitigate the spread of the virus in India, including the ethical consequences of public policy decisions for certain socially marginalised groups. Special attention is given to the ways in which recommendations by organisations like WHO often neglect the institutional, infrastructural and social context that informs the applicability and efficacy of the Covid control measures in Global South/Periphery countries like India.
