To celebrate Rawls' centenary and the 50th anniversary of the publication of A Theory of Justice, we are organizing an International Symposium on Rawls, to be held in Girona (Catalonia, Spain) on October 14 and 15, 2021. The symposium will include keynote addresses and roundtables as well as thematic panels with papers addressing, building on, or critically engaging with Rawls' thought.

Abstracts of no more than 400 words should be sent to [email protected] by June 1, 2021. We invite submissions on, but not limited to, themes linking Rawls' thinking to the history of philosophy, political philosophy, philosophy of law, political liberalism, democracy, distributive justice, economic thought, global justice, applied philosophy, metaethics, feminism, the politics of difference, intergenerational justice, environmental justice, and new trends in political theory.

The symposium will be in-person or combine in-person with online sessions, depending on the health conditions. If conditions remain unsafe, some panels may also be entirely online.

Conveners: Jahel Queralt (Universitat Pompeu Fabra), Àngel Puyol (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), Íñigo González (Universitat de Barcelona), Joan Vergés Gifra (Universitat de Girona).
