The study of intellectual character has been one of the fastest growing areas of epistemology over the past three decades with its focus on the virtues and vices of cognitive agents and their epistemic practices. This Symposium will bring together international  experts who are actively researching the topic and with some of the most relevant recent publications in the field, including works on Virtues Education, Epistemology of Vices, Honesty, and the Role of Virtues in Communities. Presentations will be in English and Portuguese.   For submission of papers for a talk session (20 minutes of presentation, 10 minutes of discussion), prepare an abstract for anonymous review (maximum of 500 words, doc. file) and send it to [email protected] until Semptember 1th. Decisions will be announced by October 10th.
