CFP: Slippery Slope Normativity Summit
Submission deadline: November 30, 2021
March 4, 2022 - March 5, 2022
Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences
Why should bankers and politicians have all the good summits? The Normativity Research Group at Inland Norway University is pleased to invite submissions to the second annual Slippery Slope Normativity Summit, to be held in Lillehammer 4-5 March 2022.
The programme is two-fold: after lunch, it will be a workshop of the usual kind, in the areas of metaethics, normative ethics, and agency and responsibility. Before lunch, participants have the option of skiing or snowboarding the slopes of Hafjell Ski Resort or go cross-country at Sjusjøen. No experience is required; the workshop can arrange rental equipment and ski instructors. We hope that the workshop will provide philosophers with a stimulating environment for discussion of issues concerning normativity.
The workshop will take place at Scandic Victoria Hotel in Lillehammer, which is an hour and forty minutes by train from Oslo Airport. The workshop will provide accommodation from 3. March to 6. March, meals, ski passes (for 2 or 3 days), rental equipment, ski instructors and transport between events. However, we ask that participants cover their own transport to Lillehammer.
We invite submissions of anonymized abstracts of about 1000 words, suitable for a 45 minute presentation, to [email protected] by December 1. We aim to have 8 speakers at the workshop. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by December 14.
