Société d'Etudes Platoniciennes (SEP) Workshop 2013

This event, open to the public, is dedicated to the presentation of ongoing research, unpublished, on Plato and the platonic tradition, before the members of the Société d'Etudes Platoniciennes. In depth discussion upon presented papers is willfully open. The Workshop is open to confirmed scholars as well as PhD students, for contributions in French, Italian, Spanish, German and English.

• 11h15 : Jean-Philippe Ranger (St. Thomas University, Fredericton) : L'épistémologie épicurienne et les leçons du Théétète de Platon.
• 14h : Jeffrey Matthew Johns (University of Edinburgh) : 'σχεδόν παιδιάν'. A study of time, the origins of the universe, and the principles of causation in the Timaeus and thePoliticus.
• 15h15 : Christian Keime (Université Paris Sorbonne) : La fonction du récit de Socrate dans le Banquet de Platon (201d1-212c3) : le dialogue et son double.
• 16h45 : Daniel Larose (Université de Montréal/Université de Paris-I) : Les dialogues de jeunesse de Platon sont-ils réellement aporétiques? L’exemple du Ménon.
