CALL FOR PAPERS:

Nordic Environmental Ethics Winter Symposium 2022

31 March – 1 April 2022

University of Copenhagen, Denmark

The NSU Nordic Environmental Ethics study circle is happy to announce its third symposium on March 31 and April 1, 2022, in University of Copenhagen. We welcome abstract submissions and presentations on any topic in environmental ethics done by Nordic and Baltic researchers or in the Nordic (or Baltic) context. Also, special attention will be given to abstracts pertaining to Wildlife Ethics, the special theme of this Winter Symposium 2022. In addition to conference sessions, the programme will include a special session on wildlife ethics, a keynote presentation by Dr. Oscar Horta (Universidade de Santiago de Compostela), and a casual ‘Hyde Park session’ style get-together where you can pitch your research project for others in three minutes with the aim to support the networking of people who share similar research interests.

Please submit your abstract (300-500 words) via email to Mikko Puumala mimapuu[at]utu.fi by December 30, 2021. Decisions will be announced by January 15, 2022.

We can grant financial support for travel and accommodation costs for Nordic/Baltic participants with accepted papers who lack external funding / institutional support for travelling. Sustainable travelling is encouraged. Please indicate your interest in travel support in the submission email. The travel grant is available only for those who present a paper in the conference. The Winter Symposium 2022 is funded by Nordplus.

Also, please indicate if you are interested in presenting your (ongoing or planned) research project in the Hyde Park session. A certificate of participation in the Hyde Park session can be given for travel allowance eligibility purposes.

Nordic Environmental Ethics study circle is a part of Nordic Summer University (NSU) series of study circles. It runs biannually 2021-2023 and aims to explore environmental ethics in the Nordic context, with Nordic researchers and perspectives, encouraging Nordic exchange of ideas and aiming at establishing a more permanent Nordic Environmental Ethics Network.
