The general subject of the conference are problems of philosophical ontology, epistemology, philosophy of science, and philosophy of mind that are formulated or solved using formal methods (as defined in logic, mathematics, formal linguistics, theoretical computer science, information science, AI) and/or with references to the results of natural and social sciences. The following special topics will be addressed: use of formal methods in philosophy; philosophical analysis of scientific notions (natural law, matter, change, cause, chance, time, space, uncertainty, quantum phenomena, probability, social interaction); philosophical analysis of scientific methods (formalisms, rationality, values and norms, etc.); the role and use of scientific notions and methods in philosophy (formal systems in philosophy, critical analysis, systematic philosophy, etc.).  

special session will be dedicated to Berislav Žarnić (1959-2017) and to any topic of his interest in philosophical logic and formal philosophy, http://marul.ffst.hr/~berislav/doku.php.  

The lectures and talks will be given in person or online, mostly depending on epidemic circumstances.

There will be a PhD student session with 20 minutes talks followed by 10 minutes discussion. The call for this session is not extended (closed on January 15).

Conference fee. In-person presence: 90 EUR / 70 EUR (retired participants, students), online presence: 25 EUR.

Abstracts  Please, submit a 1200 characters abstract by January 15, 2022 to [email protected][email protected] or [email protected].  Indicate if the abstract is meant for the special session dedicated to Berislav Žarnić. Please, note that the deadline is not extended for the PhD student session. Notification of acceptance by February 15, 2022.
